Hackney Wednesday Football Club formed in 2016, a pint dream in a pub in East London. Much like it’s Sheffield counterpart the club gained its name because it’s founding members played six-a-side together after an early finish at work on Wednesday afternoons.

Hackney Wednesday's Story
When the club was formed there was one simple aim, intelligent football, on and off the pitch. A philosophy of free flowing attacking, passing out from the back football with Pep inspired formations. Defending often comes second to scoring, as Cruyff once said, “To win you have to score one more goal than your opponent.”
Wednesday joined the Camden Sunday League in August 2017. Playing on the hallowed turf of Hackney Marshes, a fantastic season has seen them win the League & League Cup double in their debut campaign, and they’ve done it in style.

Influence
Thanks to this success on the pitch, the white and Hyper Jade of the Wednesday has become well known across the Marshes.
