Registration - FAQs
Can I register by fax/phone/email?
We accept online registration only, on www.bikereg.com, in order to simplify and streamline the registration process. Requests for refunds, for fee waivers by National or Olympic champions, or other requests, must be filed by email prior to June 1 – info2008@longsjo.com.
Can I register on the day of the race?
No.
Can I register online?
Online registration is available through www.BikeReg.com under Fitchburg Longsjo Classic.
Do I have to pay the entry fee?
Almost certainly, or else we wouldn't be able to afford to put on the race or have a prize list. In a few extraordinary cases, however, we will waive entry fees. Most notably, if you are a National Champion (any country) or Olympic or World Champion and will be wearing your champion jersey, we will waive your entry fee. Requests for fee waivers by National or Olympic champions must be filed by email prior to June 1 – info2008@longsjo.com.
Can I pick up my teammate’s race packet?
Yes! You will need the following things from your teammate(s)
An ink-signed original of the other rider's USAC waiver form.
An original or a copy of the other rider's racing license.
A copy of each teammate’s driver’s license. Cross off personal information (SSN, License ID)
I’m a junior, and my parents aren’t coming with me to the race. What do I need to know about registration?
You must bring an ink-signed original of the USAC waiver form
The waiver must be signed by your parent or actual legal guardian. A coach’s signature will not be accepted.
If you arrive at registration without these items, you will not be able to pick up your packet.
Do you have any limits on team size?
One of the National Race Calendar rule changes for 2008 is that teams racing in the Pro /1 men’s and Pro 1/2 women’s events, may have a maximum of 8 riders.
I am planning to upgrade my category before the race, what category should I register in?
You should only register in the category that you currently hold. In the event that you register early and end up upgrading, email registration@longsjo.com immediately. The sooner you let us know about the upgrade, the better. You will still be responsible for the difference in entry fees, but there is little problem with changing categories due to an upgrade, as long as we're informed well ahead of time. If you register as a category you do not currently hold, and the upgrade to that category does not go through in time for the race, you will not be allowed to race here.
I've never done a USAC race before, is the Longsjo a good choice for my first?
No. The size and difficulty of this race are pretty daunting even to many more experienced racers, so even if you are a Category 4 racer, if you're not yet comfortable in a large pack you might want to wait a little while before coming here. We've been around for 51 years, so you can bet we'll still be here when you are ready.
When can I register?
The sooner the better. Category 3 and 4 Men and Category 4 Women almost always fill, Junior and Masters often do so, and Pro/1/2 Men run the same risk. If you wait too long to enter, you may be denied a place. Registration closes on June 28th, 2010.
